Made Up
I woke up. I didn’t want to get out of bed because something bad was bound to happen, just like every other day. I hated my parents, I didn’t have any decent friends, and worst of all, I was single. Consciousness was that annoying time between naps. I finally decided I might as well get up; its better then lying in bed thinking bout the worst that could happen. Yes, I’m a pessimist. I can’t help it; I always look at the glass as ‘half empty’, and my ‘friend’ Julie makes me so mad, “It’s half full,” she always tells me. I just roll my eyes.
As I said, I got out of bed and walked downstairs to the kitchen. I made myself some toast, and there was no peanut butter left. I sighed, only butter for my toast. Took out the cereal and poured myself a tall glass of orange juice. There was no milk left. I searched the fridge and found some cream. I decided that would work fine.
After breakfast I went upstairs to get dressed. I looked in my backpack and got so angry. I had a bio assignment due. I was so mad at myself and took it out and realized I had about 30 questions left. There was no way I would get it done before school started. I called Julie and asked her if she got it done. She said she totally forgot about it too. At least I wouldn’t be the only one in detention today.

I walked out the door to the bus. I was waiting for a while and then I saw him. Someone I’d never seen before, which is kind of odd, my school isn’t so big I haven’t seen everyone. I’m in grade eleven so I’ve been around a while. This guy was hot. And boy do I ever mean HOT! Tall, slim, but too skinny, muscular, blonde hair, brown eyes so dark they almost looked black, then he saw me and smiled. That was the most gorgeous smile I had ever seen in my whole life, partially because of his pearly white teeth. What could I do? I just smiled back. He walked over to me and said, “Hi.”
“Hey.” I replied.
“What’s your name? I’m Reilly.” He said.
“I’m Angela.” I said.
“Cool. I’m new here so I don’t really know anyone.” He replied. Wow I thought, he’s quite outgoing that he goes up and talks to just anyone.
“Oh. I can show you around when we get to school if you want. Where are you originally from?”
“Oh, I just moved across town. My mom got a new job, and we were thinking of moving to this side of town anyways. I didn’t like my old school, so it’s cool.” This was great!
“Awesome. Aren’t you nervous going to a new school?”
“Not really, I tend to make friends easily.” He smiled. That was true; he’s already my friend… I hope.
“Well isn’t that the truth.” I said and smiled back. I love you I thought.
The bus came and he sat beside me. He was so dreamy. We talked all the way to school. I pointed out people on the bus and told him what to expect. There was this really mean guy who hated everyone but the people on the football team, and of course the cheerleaders; skimpy outfits and all. Then I pointed out some of the cheerleaders, and the nerds… our school was a replica of how it showed in the movies. There were certain cliques, and the nerds were super nerdy, the jocks and cheerleaders were mean, everyone had their own spot. I was pretty much a loner. I wore dark makeup, dark clothes, that day I had my black gloves on, wrote dark poetry, just a dark, unhappy person all around. I am an exact replica of every emo kid you hear about. I also have short black hair, and a lip ring. Reilly seemed interested though. It was odd because he seemed completely opposite of me. Bright, fun, happy; his happiness started to rub off on me.
I showed him around the school pointing out people and what they were like. Also telling him what classrooms held which classes. Then the bell rang. I looked at my schedule and had algebra. I groaned, and he looked over my shoulder. “What? You don’t like algebra?” he asked.
“No. Not at all,” I replied.
“I love it, and I have algebra now too.”
“Sweet, I’ll show you where the room is.”
“Awesome… What else do we have together?” We compared schedules and they were pretty close. I took choir instead of fine arts, and creative writing instead of media studies; other then that our schedules were the same. “You like writing?” he asked me.
“I love writing. I write all the time. Stories, poetry, songs, scripts…”
“Cool. I don’t mind it, but I’d rather find out about media. You know, I want to check out advertising. I think I might be going to film school, media studies would help.”
“Nice. I think I’m going off to a music school. I have my grade 8 in piano, grade 4 in theory, grade 6 in band, I play the flute, and my grade 6 in vocals. I’m taking another voice exam this summer to get my grade 8.”
“So you’re planning on being a teacher I take it?”
“At university level, yes.”
“Wow. That should be fun.”
“Yup, I’m excited. Music is my passion.”
“I can see that. You should also teach some sort of writing class beings you do it so much.”
“No, I enjoy writing but it mainly just gives me something to do. Helps me vent and stuff, music works in all areas of my life. Studying, relaxation, fun, it works anywhere. You can play music for fun, at dances, while talking to friends, and just use it in a casual conversation. Music is a huge part in a lot of people’s lives. Also helps people cope with hard times.
“I see you’ve done your research.”
“Not really… I learn best from experience. I know a lot of songs, and a lot of musicians.”
“Sweet.” I looked at my watch, it was 9:10. “Oh crap! We’re late for algebra.”
“Oh right. Wow I totally forgot.”
I smiled softly, “Me too, talking to you made me forget about… everything.”
“Awe, you’re sweet.” He replied. I blushed and we ran off to algebra.
At noon he sat with me and Julie. “And who is this, Angela?”
“Julie, this is Reilly. Reilly, this is my friend Julie.” I replied.
“Nice to meet you,” said Reilly. Now Reilly had met my best friend and he seemed interested in knowing about how we met, and about our friendship. I was quite pleased.
* * * * * * * * * *
When I got home I received a phone call from Julie. “Hello?” I answered.
“So you like him eh?” she asked me.
“Who? Reilly?” I replied.
“No, Brad Pitt. Of course I mean Reilly.”
“I don’t know…”
“Oh, and don’t even try to deny it, you know you love him.”
“I do not!”
“You do so. I saw the way you looked at him. I see the way your face lights up when he smiles at you. He likes you too you know.”
“I do not… wait what?”
“He likes you.”
“How do you know?”
“Why would a guy that gorgeous who is obviously aware of his attractiveness... he carry’s himself with such confidence… anyways, why else would he hang out with a girl all day if there was no interest.”
“Because… um… maybe… maybe he’s just a really nice guy, and he didn’t know anyone and figured he’d meet people through the first person he met.”
“Angela, he likes you. Face it.”
“I don’t want to be wrong though. If he doesn’t like me I’ll feel really stupid.”
“You won’t be wrong I promise you, because I can tell when people would work out, and I can tell when people like each other. I get a lot of people together; you know that.”
“They never stay together.”
“Yeah, but the point is they go out, and they’re happy. He likes you Angela.”
“Whatever.”
“Well, I have to do homework. I’ll talk to you tomorrow.”
“Okay bye.” I heard the click of her phone and hung up. Then I started my homework, about 10 minuets later there was another phone call. I looked at caller ID and it said Stephen Lucas. Assuming it was for dad I answered all formal, “Hello, David Johnson residence.” my father was a lawyer. I heard Reilly reply “Hi… is Angela there?”
“Oh, speaking.” I replied.
“Oh. You sounded different.”
“Yeah, I’m basically my dad’s secretary.”
“Nice, nice. Is the pay good?”
I laughed, “No, I don’t get paid anything.”
“Well that’s a crummy job.” What? Who say’s ‘crummy’ these days, I thought to myself.
“Anyways,” he continued, “the reason I called is because I was wondering if you’re doing anything tonight?”
I froze. I was trying to say nothing yet, but the harder I tried to speak, the more difficult it became.
“Angela?” He asked. I took a deep breath.
“Sorry, my sister was in my room, I had to get her to leave.” Wow, good save.
“Oh. Yeah, siblings are so annoying. Being the youngest is the worst though.”
“Well, I was the youngest until I was nine, then my mom got pregnant again.”
“Oh, that sucks… so, are you doing anything?”
“Oh right. I already forgot haha. No, I’m not.”
“Cool, do you want to go to a movie with me then?” Good gracious! He does like me I thought.
“Uh… sure!” I replied.
“Okay sweet. Yeah a few friends are going, so I figured I’d ask you if you wanted to come.”
“Yeah, that’d be cool.” Okay, maybe not. I can see it now… I’m just the friend.
“So I’ll pick you up at 6:30?”
“Sure, that’s cool.” I replied; we said goodbye and hung up.
I jumped off my bed and looked through my closet after having a quick shower. I settled for a casual look; my favorite pair of dark jeans, and a black tank top. I put on some silver jewelry to dress it up. Did my makeup, and pulled my long black hair into a pony. Then I went back to my homework.
* * * * * * * * * *
At 6:30 I heard the doorbell ring. I had finished my homework, just in time. I ran downstairs and answered the door. He was standing at the door with this other guy behind him. “Hey” Reilly said.
“Hi” I replied.
“This is my friend Jesse; he doesn’t like the other guys and didn’t want to be left in the car alone with them.” I smiled.
“Oh.” I glanced behind him and saw that he had the hottest red sports car ever! “Is that your car?” I asked.
“Well, it’s my dad’s. You’d probably like him. He acts like a 20 year old.” He replied.
“Why don’t you drive it to school?” I asked.
“Because he works during the day.”
“Right.” I replied. He smiled, and I did too. It’s impossible not to smile when I see how gorgeous he is. His smile is amazing.
“I like your necklace.” said Jesse.
“Oh” I looked down to remember what I was wearing and realized it was my black heart. “Thanks.” I replied.
When I was just about at the car Reilly opened the door and pushed Jesse into the back seat. Then he looked at me and held onto the door. I smiled. “Thank you.” I said as I got in. He closed the door and we were off. The other two guys in the back were Reese and Zac.
The movie didn’t start until 7:30 so we cruised around town for a bit. I found out that Jesse was really friendly, and didn’t understand how he didn’t like Reese or Zac. Reese was kind of quiet, but when he did speak, anything he said was funny, probably because he said the most surprising things at the most unexpected times. Zac was just crazy, which made him hilarious. This is going to be a fun night, I thought.
The movie was hilarious, and afterwards we went for a 9:30 burger. The whole time I had a blast and didn’t even really think about Reilly. He was probably the most boring of the four guys, and not even the hottest. That’s right; I was out on the town with four extremely hot, funny, amazing guys. It was the time of my life!
Reilly dropped me off last. He walked me to the door and asked what I thought of his friends. “They are so awesome!” I replied, very enthusiastically.
“Yeah, they are pretty great. Those guys are my best friends, the only people I really trust. But anyways, it’s pretty late for a school night, so I should get going.” He hugged me goodbye and I went inside. Tonight was almost the best night of my life!
* * * * * * * * * *
It was morning again. I groaned, rolled out of bed, and took a shower. I looked in my closet and was about to grab my favorite black top, but I thought again. I walked over to my dresser and pulled out a yellow shirt I hadn’t worn since grade seven, and a pair of blue faded jeans. They both still fit. I searched through my makeup bag, but all I had was black and brown. I made my makeup less dramatic and used the lighter brown in the case. I looked in the mirror and smiled, I actually looked really good in yellow.
I had gotten up too early and had a half hour to blow. I decided to put pink highlights in my hair. I used to randomly dye my hair pink until I hit grade 9 and my life went spiraling downward. I grabbed the box of dye and went to work.
The second I stepped on the bus I felt everyone’s eyes on me. Everyone looked super surprised as I walked to the back of the bus where I always sat. Julie gave me a funny look and said, “What’s up with you?”
“What? I decided to look bright today.” I replied.
“Did you make out with Reilly last night?”
“No, we went to a movie with his friends. They are so awesome, seriously. The funniest people I have ever met. I honestly don’t remember the last time I laughed that much.”
“Wow, I haven’t seen you in this good of a mood… well… ever.”
“That’s because I haven’t been in a good mood since… well probably since I was about 14.”
“Wow. Well it’s good that you’re in a good mood.”
“I feel amazing.”
When I got to school I saw Reilly at his locker talking to one of the guys in our algebra class, Derek Simmons. I walked up to them. “Hey Reilly, hi Derek.”
“Hey, wow your hair is… pink!” Reilly said.
“Yeah… you don’t like it… do you…”
“No I do… I actually like pink…” he pulled up the band on his boxers and they were pink! I giggled.
“Well, thanks. So what’s up?”
“Oh not much, it’s Friday right?”
“It sure is.”
“That’s good”
“I’m so happy today; oh man you have no idea.”
“Why?”
“Because it’s the weekend. It’s been a long boring week. Well last night made it not so boring, but other then that, long boring week.”
“Oh yeah. Hey, do you want to do something tonight? Like go out for supper or something?” I smiled, then Derek jumped in.
“Oh, you can’t do that; she’s going out with Chad.” Chad was the quarterback on the football team.
“Eww” was my reply. “I wouldn’t date Chad if he was the last man on earth and it was up to us to re-populate it.” Of course, as luck would have it, Chad was walking by as I said that.
“What’s wrong with me? And who are you?” That was embarrassing. I felt my face turn red, and Reilly must have noticed because as soon as he looked at me he started laughing. That’s when I noticed he had the sexiest laugh ever! I smiled.
At noon he sat with Julie and me again. Reilly and me were talking about last night and cracking jokes. I was having such a good time I didn’t even notice that Julie had left and was sitting at another table with some girl who always sits alone. I didn’t care though; Julie was never really even nice to me, so I ignored it. Reilly asked me where she went but I just shrugged and went on talking about a funny joke I heard from Dane Cook before I went to bed last night. He’s the funniest comedian ever!
After school Reilly came over. We just sat in the living room for a while talking about school, then mom came home. “Go clean your room!” she didn’t care that my ‘friend’ was right there. She’s so mean! I really hate her!
“Mom, Reilly is here… I can’t clean my room when he’s here.”
“Yes you can, get him to help you.”
“Eww, mom, there are dirty clothes on the floor, he doesn’t wanna touch them.”
“It’s just clothes… not like he’s changing your sheets because you wet your bed like you used to when you were younger…”
“MOM! Oh my God! Do not talk about that in front of my friends! Are you retarded?!”
“Do not talk to me like that missy!”
“I don’t care anymore! I hate you!” I grabbed Reilly’s arm and stormed out of the house slamming the door behind us.
“Oh my God, I am so sorry about that.” I said pacing.
“Its fine” Reilly replied, “That’s mild compared to most of the fights I have with my parents.”
“Yeah, well… my parents just suck.”
“I think almost everyone thinks that about their parents. You know what I said about my dad? He gets really annoying sometimes and tried to look like a young guy. Do you know how embarrassing that is? You do live with them after all; you didn’t get to choose them, like they did each other.”
“That’s true. But they didn’t choose me either, and sometimes I feel like they would have chosen someone else if they could have.”
“Angela, they’re your parents. They love you even when they don’t show it sometimes. You should know that. Even if they would have gotten the choice I’m sure they would have chosen you. I did.” He smiled.
“Wait… what?”
“I chose you. There were a lot of people standing at that bus stop, but I saw that you were alone so I went over and started talking to you. I can read people better then you think. I’ve moved around a lot and have gotten great at that. You hate your parents and don’t have many friends because you don’t have much confidence for some reason. I don’t know your past and really, you shouldn’t worry about it. You’re beautiful and shouldn’t care what people think of you.”
“Oh?”
“You’re really amazing Angela, I’ve known you for two days and have already seen that.” I blushed.
“Thanks; I’m not that great.”
“Have confidence in yourself. Look in the mirror and look at the good in you. You have the most beautiful eyes I’ve ever seen.” I smiled.
“I do like my eyes…”
“You should. Now let’s get out of here… I’ll take you out for supper somewhere.”
“Oh, well let me get my purse quick.” I started walking toward the door again but he gently grabbed my hand.
“When I say I’m going to take you out for supper I’m implying that I’m going to pay.”
“Are you sure?” I asked.
“I’m positive.”
“Oh, I don’t know… that’s a waste of money…”
“It’s not a waste if it’s on you… what else am I gonna spend it on anyway if not a beautiful lady?” I blushed again, “Your face is red.” He said with a sly grin.
“I know, you make me blush.” He smiled and we were on our way.
* * * * * * * * * *
We got in his car and went to a coffee house I’ve never been to. It was on the other side of town and the hang out place there. Again we met up with his friends. They are so awesome! Zac was sitting beside this girl I’d never seen before. I asked Reilly if it was his girlfriend and he laughed. “No, that’s his sister.” He replied. My face went red.
“Oh, well good thing I didn’t ask him then.” Zac looked at Reilly when he laughed.
“Angelica, this is my sister, Jasmine.”
“Hello” I replied, shaking her hand.
“Hey, so are you and Reilly dating?” I wish!
“No, we’re just friends.”
“Shwanky.”
“Oh my, you actually use that word? UI thought I was the only one.” She giggled.
“Yeah, it’s pretty much the awesomest word EVER!” Then Zac cut in, “Awesomest isn’t even a word. She’s a niner.” He said, hooking his thumb toward his sister. “She’s pretty much retarded.”
“If you call me retarded one more time I’ll break your legs!”
“Oh, and with what? All that mighty strength you have?” She stuck her tongue out at him and sunk into the seat. “And you’re 15?” he asked. I laughed.
“I’m old, I’m 17.” I said.
“I’m old! I’m in grade 12 mang. 18 ftw.”
“Mang and ftw… okay?” I asked.
“Ftw is for the win… and mang is a word.” He replied
“I know, I’m not stupid. I just never heard anyone say those vocally. Sure on instant messenger, but never out loud… it’s kind of like using lol in a spoken conversation.”
“Been there.” Jasmine said.
“Probably not something to be proud of” said Zac.
“So anyway!” Said Reece, “Why don’t we get the lovely lady a chair.” He glanced at me.
“Oh that’s okay. I can stand.” I replied; but Reece had already left to get me one. When he got back he set the one behind me, and handed the other to Reilly, slapping him in the back of the head. “What a gentleman” Reece said to him. I giggled and so did Jasmine. A had a feeling Jasmine would be a pretty awesome friend of mine.
We all had a bite to eat and went home. Reece and Zac were talking about a party, and all of us agreed to go. I went to Reilly’s house so he could change his clothes and shower. Then he brought me home and waited. I had no idea what to wear. I searched through my closet and found nothing! I looked through my drawer and found one pair of tight jeans I hadn’t worn in forever. I pulled those out and tried to find something for a shirt. Finally I found my favorite pink shirt I had in 9th grade. Hadn’t worn it since then, and as soon as I put it on I remembered why I loved it so much. It looked REALLY good with pink and black hair. I went into my closet and dug out some old makeup. I did it really dramatic for the night and off I was.
“Wow, who are you trying to impress?” Reilly asked me.
“What? No one…” I replied.
“Oh, well you look really good.” I smiled.
“Thanks.”
“Yeah, well Angela… I have something to ask you…”
“What?”
“I was just wondering… have you ever thought… you wanted to be my girlfriend?” I was shocked. I suddenly got butterflies and smiled. I was flabbergasted! I didn’t know what to say.
“Yes?” I replied uncertain.
“I though so.” He said casually. I smiled. “But yeah… you’re not really my type. Sorry.” WHAT! I thought. I was crushed and very confused!
“Oh.” I said in shock.
“So yeah, anyways let’s go.” I stood there for a moment in total confusion.
“No.” I said at last and started walking back upstairs.
“What?” He asked.
“No, I’m not going. I changed my mind.”
“Come on Angela. Don’t let something like this ruin your night.”
“I’m not. I just don’t want to go anymore.” He shook his head and left. About 20 minuets later I got three texts. One was from Reese, one from Zac and one from Jesse asking where I was. I texted them all back saying I didn’t want to come anymore. Zac told me to come, and Jesse asked me why. Reese didn’t say anything. About 5 minuets later I heard my doorbell ring. No one was home, so I had to get the door which I didn’t want to do because my skin was blotchy, eyes were puffy and makeup smeared from crying.
I opened the door and there stood Reese. In his hand he held a single, long stemmed, pink rose. He held it out to me. I looked at him confused, gently taking the rose. “I was going to give it to you when I had the courage. But I thought Reilly liked you, and I knew you liked him. I’m sorry he hurt you, he’s a bastard like that.” I still looked at him confused.
“Oh…?”
“Yeah. He’s crushed EVERYONE he knows that likes him. He gets to know girls and if he doesn’t think they’ll give it up to him, he makes sure they hurt. I don’t know why he loves seeing people in pain, but he does. I was kind of worried when I knew you liked him, but I didn’t really have the courage to speak up, and I wanted to tell you in person rather then over texting, but you were always beside Reilly so I never got the chance. I was going to tonight, but then he told you before you got to the party.”
“Wow.”
“Yeah, I’m really sorry.”
“So his rose is just an ‘I’m sorry he doesn’t like you’?”
“No, this rose is an ‘I like you. Come to the party and get hammed with me. I have a DD.’” I smiled.
“Come in. I need to fix up again a little more.” He followed me in. I put the rose is a vase and brought it upstairs with me to set in my room. I fixed my hair a bit, re-applied my makeup, and turned to him. “Thanks” I said at last with a smile.
“For what?” He asked.
“For being amazing. I don’t know anyone who would come pick me up for a party after I told them I wasn’t coming.”
“I wouldn’t do this for just anyone. I do things like this for people who mean a lot to me. I know I haven’t known you for very long, but as far as I can see, you’re a great person. Now let’s go have some fun tonight, okay?” I smiled.
“Okay. Sounds good.”
When I got to the party I saw Reilly. The last thing I remember is shot gunning 3 beers in a row, right after drinking half my micky of vodka. After that, the night is pretty hazy. I remember a few moments; like falling over a lot, eating some cheese which I thought was amazing, throwing up before I had time to get to the bathroom, wondering where my vodka went (thinking back now I think I drank it all) and that’s about it. I woke up the next day in a room that was unfamiliar and having no idea how I got there. It was a boy’s room I could tell, but whose? What happened last night after the loss of my vodka? Where am I? How did I get here? Is mom worried? Then I decided to check my phone. I had a lot of drunken texts I sent. Then I came across one to Reilly. Oh my God! I didn’t! I read it. “Reilly. Thnx 4 brox hart. I hate wu. U need to die. Rt in HELLM!!.!-?!” I was slightly confused, but then I remembered how drunk I was and decoded what I meant was that I hated him and wanted him to rot in hell. Then Reese walked in. “Oh you’re awake?” he said with a smile.
“Yeah, is this your house?”
“Yeah, my room too.” I looked concerned. “I stopped drinking once you shot gunned those beers because I was concerned about you. Once you passed out I got my buddy to take us home. Carried you up to bed, and here you are.” I just nodded and kept looking through my texts. I got one from Reilly that said “What?” most likely about the weird text I sent him. Reese handed me a glass of water.
“Have a hangover?” he asked.
“Not really, have a little bit of a headache, but overall I feel alright.” I replied.
“That’s good. Your mom called your cell, I didn’t answer but I saw that it was your number, so I called your house saying that you had passed out and you were on the couch just so she wasn’t worried.”
“Thanks. I’m sorry I got so tanked.”
“Oh it’s okay. It was actually really entertaining. I had fun.”
“Yeah. I think I did.”
“You seemed to have been happy, until you lost your vodka.”
“Yeah, I remember that.”
“I have a small question.”
“Yes?”
“Do you remember what happened about 20 minuets before you passed out?”
“I don’t know. What happened?”
“Well, you took me upstairs to get me alone, and started making out with me. I stopped you because I didn’t want you to get carried away. We were both drunk so technically I wouldn’t have been taking advantage of you, but I had my wits enough to stop it. You got mad and slapped me and started crying, but I didn’t want something to happen.”
“No, I don’t remember that.”
“Well yeah, it happened.” He laughed nervously. I believed him, I mean, why wouldn’t I? I was so drunk I don’t remember half the night… but you think you’d remember something as significant as that? Wouldn’t I?
“Wouldn’t I remember that?” I asked.
“I don’t know… maybe, beings it was about 20 minuets before you passed out, your mind was just too far gone. You looked VERY drunk. You wouldn’t have been able to hide it if you wanted to.” Reese replied.
“Oh. Yeah, I was pretty bad. Surprised I didn’t die of alcohol poisoning, and why am I not sicker today?”
“I really don’t know.”
“Well thanks for everything you’ve done, but I should probably get home.”
“Why? It’s Saturday. Stay here for a bit to chill.”
“Okay.” I got up and we sat on his bed for about 2 hours just talking. We talked about school, family, friends, everything.
“Hey, have you ever seen ‘Moulin Rouge’?” He asked me.
“Yes, I love that movie. So sad at the end though.” I replied.
“Yeah, she dies in his arms. Anyways, you know that song he sings to her? That ‘I hope you don’t mind, I hope you don’t mind, that I put down in words, how wonderful life is now you’re in the world.’”
“Yeah…”
“Yeah, kind of reminds me of you…”
I looked at him confused. “What?” I asked.
“Well, ever since I met you I’ve felt… happier, and I don’t know… you just make me smile.” I smiled. He went on “I’ve been wondering for a while now… would you do me the great deed in being my girlfriend?” I smiled again.
“Yes.” I said simply. He smiled. There was a look in his face that was just beyond joy. He took my hand gently and looked deeply into my eyes. He looked like he was about to kiss me, but suddenly my phone vibrated. It was a text from Julie. “Hey what’s up.” I groaned. “Stupid Julie” I muttered to myself. Reese laughed.
“What’s she doing texting you so early in the afternoon?” I looked at the clock on my phone and it was 5:00PM.
“What time did I wake up?” I asked him.
“Well I came in at about 2:30.” I was shocked.
“Wow, that’s… wow.”
“Yeah. Anyways… what are you doing tonight?”
“Well… nothing at the moment.”
“Want to go grab some pizza or something?”
“Sure. That’d be cool.” He smiled and looked very pleased. He was just happy today. He was still holding my hand and he looked me in the eye again. He was about to kiss me again, and my phone vibrated. It was in my other hand and I just tossed it to the side. I didn’t want that stupid thing interrupting me again. He smiled, leaned in, and kissed me softly. I smiled.
